Running Accomplishments:

I have been running for a long time...about 14 years to be exact.  I started in 7th grade.  Recently, I just finished my first marathon.  It was the first time in a very long time that running made me feel alive.  It was incredible.  I also realized how sick and tired I was of my mediocre runs.  I can do better.

My time at the St. George Marathon (2008) was 3:51:59.  This was exciting as I caught a glimpse of how much improvement can be made with some extra effort.  When I first started training, my goal was to finish.  Gradually, I realized that I would easily be able to finish.  Visions and daydreams of qualifying for Boston seem to taunt me daily.  I realize that I need to be more serious about tracking my miles and times.  Hence, the running blog.  I am SO excited to learn from others who have more experience!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Find another marathon to run.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Ran a nice loop with Cheri this morning.  It is getting hot outside which reminds me that maybe I need to get up earlier to beat the heat.  Slept in yesterday, but muscles were still screaming this morning...hope they recover before tomorrow's 14.  We are running 7 miles up the course and then back.  I am hoping to get a lot more uphill training in this year to prep for the marathon.

Here's to a PR!

Ran 6 miles with Heidi--8:10/mile pace.  Swam 1/2 mile with Anji.  Felt pretty good, but tired :)  Started Weight Watchers last night...hoping that good diet will improve running.

speedwork with St. George Tri Club at Pineview HS track.  I could only stay for a part of the work-out which consisted of 200yd repeats with a 2 minute rest in between.  Finished 7 of 12, and then hit the gym for some weights.  Still feeling tired though.
